The Sentinel-Record in Hot Springs names new Marketing and Digital Engagement Director
Anna-Claire Butler was recently named The Sentinel-Record’s new marketing and digital engagement director, a role in which she’ll be responsible for “driving The Sentinel-Record’s marketing, branding, social media and community engagement efforts,” according to an article by the newspaper. Butler will handle strategic oversight and content creation and “build readership, foster digital community and increase public visibility.”
The Sentinel-Record is “excited” to have Butler move into this new role, said Harry Porter, the newspaper’s general manager. “She has done an outstanding job growing our social media across all platforms. I am certain she will bring her outstanding work ethic into this new role, and I expect great things.”
Butler joined the company in May 2024 as the first social media coordinator.
“It gave me the chance to combine creativity and community in a way that felt meaningful,” she said. “As the new director of marketing and digital engagement, I’m excited to continue growing our online presence while deepening our connections with our readers, both in-person and online.”
Born and raised in the Spa City, Butler graduated from Hot Springs High School and went on to earn her bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice and sociology from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, then her masters degree in social work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
“When I was in college, a mentor once told me ‘Create the job you want,’ and that’s what I did when I began working at The Sentinel-Record…”
