Arkansas newspapers launch 'Community Insider Business' Program
Arkansas newspapers owned by CherryRoad Media have launched a Community Insider Perks Program.
The program by the Pocahontas Star Herald, the Clay County Courier in Corning, the Clay County Democrat-Tribune in Piggott, Areawide News in Salem and Cherokee Village and the Marshall Mountain Wave launched in June. Designed to strengthen connections between local business and the community, the program offers newspaper subscribers perks from local business as a thank-you for their support — a local coffee shop might offer 10% off a coffee, for example.
By offering a special discount or perk, local businesses gain visibility with engaged readers who are eager to support businesses in their community.
There is no cost for businesses to participate beyond offering the perks. "Businesses gain free promotion in the newspaper, on our website and on our social channels," said Jenny Tyson, CherryRoad Media group editor. "It's a win-win. It’s free to join, easy to manage and a great way to bring in new and returning customers."
Subscribers must be active paid subscribers to the newspaper to access any perks, coupons, QR codes or offers. Perks are non-transferable and must be redeemed only by the subscriber listed on the account.
